Stepan and I celebrated our 5th anniversary which was quickly followed by Magda's 3rd birthday. Though actually our anniversary was on a Friday, we participated in a triathlon on Saturday, had a birthday party for Magda on Sunday, had our anniversary date on Sunday afternoon, followed by Magda's actual birthday on Tuesday. It was quite a busy few days.
Stepan got me a new iPod for my anniversary. I'm enjoying playing with all the new features including the games you can play, the videos you can watch, and the pictures you can view. Unfortunately, I don't get the opportunity to play it as often as I would like. I also need to spend some serious time organizing my music and creating appropriate playlists. I got Stepan some winter weight clothes for running. I must say, he looks really good these days. Since he started running, he's dropped about 20 pounds. I really love his newfound enthusiasm for exercise!
Magda's birthday party was a success. I have fantasies about these over the top birthday parties with themes and organized games or carnival rides or a petting zoo, but in reality those things aren't necessary. Magda got to wear party hats, open presents, eat cake, and play with her Buelito. It was everything she could have wanted for a 3rd birthday. She got some great presents; books and age appropriate toys (most of her toys are too young for her). Stepan and I got her a Skuut and a Dragon Tales playset. She likes the Skuut, but it really a big hit with the kids who come over to play. She really likes the Dragon Tales playset - a good thing too since I worked so hard to win it off of ebay.
After the party, for our anniversary date, we saw a movie (The Brave One with Jodi Foster) and tried out a new restaurant (The Daily Grill) at The Domain. The movie was good, but a little dark for an anniversary movie. The food at The Daily Grill was great - especially the seared Ahi Tuna we had as an appetizer.
All in all a busy, but rewarding weekend.
Posted by jfer at October 10, 2007 3:24 PMI really wished I could have made Magda's birthday party. Here lately making time for anything has become a real issue. I might be getting an Ipod (my first one) for Christmas. I'm surprised you didn't put in a link to the model you have now. While I was visiting Leah in Chicago we also went and saw "The Brave One." What did you think of it?
