I've been too depressed (and really too busy as well) to write about the Horrible Crash of '06. When Stepan was in NYC a couple of weeks ago, my laptop started making an obnoxious clicking noise and then absolutely refused to boot up...it wouldn't even give me the "blue screen of death". The hard drive crashed and nothing Stepan could do could retrieve my files - including all my pictures and videos of Magda...though a data recovery company "may" be able to retrieve "some" of the files for a measley $1200!!! And no, I haven't backed up my computer for some time and yes, that is the very first thing everybody asks when told a computer crashed.
On the upside, Stepan has installed a network backup system (or something) and all of our computers will now get automatically backed up every week. Also, this was delivered today. It's beautiful and I'm looking forward to learning the ins and outs and ups and downs of my new computer.

Hindsight is 20/20....do you have to pay the $1200 if the data recovery is unsuccessful. For pictures and videos of Magda, it would be worth $1200. Also, it looks like you have the same computer as Courtney. She loves hers!
