Magda and I had a lovely morning. She slept until nearly 9am and we joined Jessica and crew at the children's museum after breakfast and walking the dog. Afterwards, we all met at Central Market where I did some grocery shopping and the kids got to play at the playground until Jessica's charges were ready for their naps.
On the way home, Magda fell asleep in the car, as expected. I'm usually concerned that she won't get a long enough nap when she falls asleep in the car because she rarely sleeps though transitioning from the car to the bed. That being the case, once I got home, I put away my cold stuff before getting her from the car. My concerns were unfounded today though; she woke up briefly but was more than happy to nurse back to sleep and I was able to leave her in the bedroom not five minutes after I set her down.
Here comes the "Damn Dog" part - Once I left the bedroom, I was finally able to let the dogs into the house. Homer as always was thrilled to see me, came right in, and waited expectantly for my attentions. Rose was being as sweet as could be as she waited for me to free her from the tether. I had no idea I was about to unleash the hounds of hell into my home. As soon as that Damn Dog was free of the tether she bounded into the house, ran straight to the bedroom, jumped on the bed, and energetically kissed Magda awake.
Magda didn't seem to mind her wake up call, but since she only got a 10 minute nap the rest of my day was spent dealing with a cranky little miss. Of course once Magda was up, Rose spent the rest of the day sleeping on her pillow in the living room and when Stepan got home Magda was mostly her usual angelic self. Ugh! Damn Dog!...I think I'll go see in Rose wants to share her pillow.
