It's Coming Out

Not the baby, but maybe the bellybutton. The other day I was sitting on the edge of the couch, leaning slightly forward, and rubbing The Belly. I felt a weird bump and looked down...horrors! Part of my bellybutton had started to protrude. I quickly sat up straight and pushed it back in, but not before Stepan saw it and was suitably weirded out. The button hasn't popped out since, but I'm thinking it won't be too long before I'm an outie.

Poor Stepan. Doesn't sound like he was quite prepared for the reality of pregnancy and childbirth! I found with both my pregnancies that I needed a band-aid over the bellybutton for about a week once the protrusion commenced, as it was too sensitive to allow my clothing to touch it at first. After all, when does anything ever touch that part of your body except at times like this? (And tell him not to sorry--it does go all the way back in afterwards--mine's been back in for weeks now.)

I've always been an "outie" so never made much difference for me!! EWWWWW.

Well, I always found it easier to empty the lint during this time. Outie belly buttons are so much easier to clean than innies. I did kinda miss the built in salt cellar when eating celery in bed.
