My First Mother's Day

I've been strongly hinting to Stepan for weeks now that he should get me something for Mother's Day this year. Stepan came through with flying colors. When I got home from church this morning, there were beautiful fresh flowers on the dining table and a present that contained an awesome maternity top from Mimi Maternity. A couple of days ago, I was stressing that if he got me something for Mother's Day then I would have to get him something for Father's Day....he said I could get him a tie.

Anyway (more about me, now). This afternoon we met Carlos and Diane at Tuscany for lunch and I got see and enjoy the whole Mother's Day racket even more! As we walked in the door, Magic 95 was handing out roses to all the moms and the dessert counter was giving away chocolate covered strawberries. When we went to pay for our brick-oven pizzas, the cashier asked me if I was a mother. I patted The Belly and told her I was working on it. She decided that that counted and gave us a "mothers eat free" coupon to apply towards our lunch.

Free food, friends, flowers, and fine new clothes...a very, very good First Mother's Day.

That sounds like a perfectly lovely day. Isn't it exciting having a special day like this? Not often in one's life you pick up a new holiday. (Tell Stepan well done.) I'm *so* happy for you!
