Crazy Hours

Whew! I just sent out the last of the plan sheets for a project that has been keeping me in the office for way too many hours. I'll easily hit 50 hours this week and no, I don't get paid overtime, though I do get paid for the hours I work. The really horible thing was missing my cousin's birthday (I was at work until 11pm); I'll have to think up something really good to make it up to her. I'm really glad this week is almost over.

There are rewards though (aside from the big pay check at the end of the month). This morning, the entire office was called into the kitchen for an impromptu staff meeting. Yummy pastries from TFB were provided and I was presented with a gift certificate for a pedicure at Perfectly Polished as a token of appreciation for all my hard work this week. Now I just have to decide when to use it....if I use it this month I'll need to shave my legs, but if I wait until the spring (when I'll start shaving my legs for the summer), more people will be able to admire my toes since I mainly wear Tevas...

You don't have to make up for anything, silly girl! Sounds like a rough week, although surely it's going to end up being more than 50 hours . . . at least you get paid something for your time. Reading this entry reminded me of my Dell days, and not only did I get no overtime, no one ever gave me a manicure. (Cue the violins . . . ) Just keep your eyes out tomorrow 'cause a certain little blond boy might have something to deliver to you . . .
