It Just Keeps Coming

Today at work I recieved a "birthday in a box" from Mom. For one thing I love getting packages in the mail. For another, I especially like them when the are filled with lots of shiny, wrapped gifts all for me! It was so much fun to get it/open them, even my co-worker who was eating lunch with me had fun while I opened them. She sent some Fossil purse accessories, a red scarf with the letter "J" embroidered on it, a Givenchy Ysatis gift set (which I may exchange for Bulgari), some underwear, and a sparkly desk frame with a picture of me and my honey. Yep. No doubt about it. My mom is cool.

Jenny, you need to use the "_blank" feature of HTML. That way your links will open in a new window abd I can still see your blog.

Personally, when I click on a link, I want to have a choice as to where the link opens. If you put target="_blank" in a link, you take that choice away from me! I may have my browser (Firebird, Safari, etc.) configured to open links in new tabs instead of windows. In any case, I can always right-click on a link and specify whether to open in new tab or new window. I do not have the option to specify current window. Acording to Jacob Niesen, opening a link in a new window ranks as number two on his list of The Top Ten New Mistakes of Web Design.

Jfer, don't listen to anti-choice ideologues and keep your site as is!

Eek! So many opinions. Reminds me of the parable of the man and son who were taking their donkey to the market:

The first person they passed chastised them for leading the donkey. As a beast of burden, it was created to serve so someone should be riding it. So the boy mounted the donkey and they continued on their way.

The second person chastised the young boy for riding while the aged father walked beside donkey. So the father mounted the donkey behind the boy and they continued on their way.

The third person was an animal rights activist and chastised them for putting so much weight on the poor defenseless donkey. Immediatly, the two dismounted, and to make ammends to the donkey they tied its feet to a pole which they carried between them. As they were crossing a bridge into the market, one of them slipped and the donkey fell into the river and drowned.

Need I say more?

The moral is to never listen to what people tell you about your ass?
