I took the plunge on Friday and drastically changed my hairstyle. I don't remember the last time it was this short though I do remember having the Dorothy Hamill cut when it was in style in the 70s. It's been strange in some respects (I'm still trying to pull my hair out of my collar after I put on a sweater), but so easy to adjust to in others (it didn't take much time at all to get use to running my fingers through much shorter layers). I guess the real test comes tomorrow morning when I go to workout (my hair will no longer go into a ponytail) then wash it and try to style it myself (eek!).
Posted by jfer at February 16, 2003 10:06 PMHaving seen your haircut in person when Jonathan and I came over to borrow stuff for our ski trip later this week, may I say that it suits you completely. Being a Southern girl myself, as you are, it was hard to imagine, but I can't see it looking any better than it does on you. Congratulations!
Posted by: Elizabeth on February 16, 2003 11:19 PMI remember you wearing those Dorothy Hamill glasses, too (and that was early '90s ;-) The hair looks lovely - I definitely dig it!
Posted by: stepan on February 17, 2003 12:41 AMYou look lovely and chic, Jennifer.
Posted by: Cynthia on February 17, 2003 5:47 AMJenny! I love it...but it looks suspiciously like mynew cut...JENNY ! quit copying me!!!
It's a lovely hairstyle! I hope it will be as easy to care for as it is cute.
Posted by: Leah on February 17, 2003 4:44 PMI love it! You are even more beautiful than you were before the cut---if that is even possible.
Posted by: mom (aka Rita) on February 17, 2003 6:49 PMLooks great!
I am curious though. What is it about women feeling they must drastically change their hairstyles, not too long after they get married? Or is this just a huge coincidence with you, my wife and just about every newlywed woman I know?
Again, looks great!
Posted by: Patrick on February 18, 2003 4:11 PMGood question, Pat. I can't answer for everyone, but in my case, I've been wanting to cut my hair short for a long time, but didn't for several reasons.
1) I couldn't find a style I liked and thought would look good with my hair.
2) I was terrified a short cut wouldn't look good on me and having an aweful haircut as a swinging single didn't seem like such a good idea. and
3) I wanted long hair with soft, romantic curls on my wedding day.
So it doesn't matter if you have "an awful haircut" as a married old lady? I guess that answers my question about the granny panties, too...
Posted by: stepan on February 20, 2003 6:27 PMI love it! The Lucio sisters have gone short.
